For the photographers amongst us; I have a present for you.
A few weeks ago I received an email from Italy. ‘Genuine Straps’ wanted to send me a leather camera strap in exchange for an honest review. Why not? So when I got back from the Foundation Workshop in the USA, there was a nice wooden box waiting for me. You have to admit, those Italians do have class! If they present their products professionally like that, you immediately get a good feeling about the quality of the strap. The smell of fresh leather when I opened the box gave it an extra dimension. Although it looks nice; at the end of the day it has to be functional. The goal must be to quickly change between 2 camera bodies; because you can always miss unique moments at a wedding while you are struggling with your gear. I had experience with the ‘Moneymaker’ (the USA-manufactured strap), so I could perfectly compare it with his Italian nephew.
So I gave the ‘Genuine Strap’ his maiden photoshoot during a maternity session (indoor and on location). To be honest, I was quite impressed by the ‘Genuine Strap’.
- I barely had the feeling I was wearing a strap; it felt so light
- the extra safety belt provides extra protection for your expensive gear
- it was cold at the location, so I had to wear a coat above the strap. The strap didn’t halter on my clothes and I could move my camera’s very smoothly
- it’s cheaper than the American Moneymaker and as a European photographer you don’t have to worry about paying extra customs fees when you receive your product
- you look very cool in it
So briefly; I had a positive experience with the ‘Genuine Strap’. For the next wedding I have, the Moneymaker will stay in the bag! If you are interested, I kindly invite you to look at https://genuinestrap.com. I even have an exclusive present if you want to order one.
Thank you, Kristof Claeys, for the thrust! We won’t disappoint!
