Built to hold, and to let go when you want it to

The V3 clasp is heavy duty hardware. It is machined to carry far more weight than a camera body and a long lens will ever put on it, so the load is never the thing you think about. Pull the release and it opens in one hand, even with the full weight of the camera hanging off it. Let go and it locks shut.

There is no thin gate to bend out of shape, no spring clip that slowly loses its tension, no thumb screw that works itself loose in the bottom of your bag. It is a solid, positive mechanism that either holds or is deliberately opened, with nothing in between.

It also swivels. That sounds minor until you have spent a day with a strap that slowly corkscrews itself into a rope across your back. The barrel turns freely, so the strap always lies flat.

The mount that fits everything

The second piece screws into the 1/4″-20 tripod socket on the base of your camera, the universal thread, so it fits Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Pentax, Leica, and every other body made in the last fifty years. The machined oval loop takes the clasp, a split ring, or a strap end directly. A grip washer under the head stops it backing out on its own.

It sits flush enough that most Arca-Swiss plates still mount over it, and it comes off with a coin when you need the tripod socket back.

Stainless throughout

Both pieces are solid stainless steel, not zinc alloy with a chrome flash. That matters on a part that lives in rain, dust and sweat: plated pot metal pits, then swells, then snaps. Stainless keeps its surface and keeps its strength.
