The leather reporter bag is what you carry when a backpack is too much and your pockets are not enough. Cut vertically at 20 x 28 cm, it sits flat against the back and rides at the hip, so you can walk through a crowded station or a busy street without swinging it into anybody.

The leather is waxed full grain in a deep warm brown, the kind that starts out even and ends up marked by where you have taken it. Corners darken, the surface picks up a low shine on the panels that rub, and after a year it looks like yours rather than like stock.

Sized for the Things You Actually Carry

Inside, one lined main compartment takes a 10 inch tablet, an A5 notebook, a charger and a paperback. A slip pocket on the back wall holds a passport or boarding pass upright so it does not slide to the bottom. On the front there is a zip pocket for a phone and keys, reachable without opening the bag. A second flat pocket on the rear panel takes papers you need to hand over quickly.

The main opening runs on an antique brass zip with a leather pull, sized heavier than the bag strictly needs because zips are what fail first on a daily carry bag. Strap sliders and D-rings are solid metal, not plated pot metal, and the shoulder strap adjusts across a wide range so it works whether you wear it over a shirt or a winter coat.

Every reporter bag is cut and stitched by hand in our workshop. Because we work from individual hides, the grain and shade vary slightly from piece to piece. The one photographed here is the one you receive.

Care and Guarantee

Wipe with a soft dry cloth and treat occasionally with a neutral leather cream to keep the hide supple. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, radiators and water. Store stuffed with tissue paper inside its dust bag so the shape is preserved between uses.
